I finally finished up a little project I’ve been working on for a while. I’m vaguely capable of drawing things, but having not had an art class since 7th grade, color eludes me. I mean, I understand the basics of how color works, but painting something using the full gamut of colors at my disposal to achieve what I think should happen is not something I’ve practiced enough to have fluency in.
Anyway, this is is a beetle that I think is particularly pretty. The Plusiotis Gloriosa is known for these odd metallic strips on its back.
My picture doesn’t come close to capturing the beauty of the “Glorious Scarab”, but it was great practice, I learned a lot and enjoyed the process.
