Sci Fi Sunday: Giant armour suits, pixies and lasers

sfs001

Today’s Sci Fi Sunday brings us some really cool armour suits as well as some peculiarly anachronistic pixies. Why does the robin hood  type figure need a giant suit? This is also another good example of the quality of illustration in analog versus the others. Note the anatomical peculiarity on the pixie being shot. I doubt that the super long neck and tiny head was intentional.

Sci-Fi Sunday 003: Space ships, space suits, and short skirts

Analog Science Fiction November/December 1974

I decided to do a double feature with this one. Once a week is a long time to wait for sci-fi illustration goodness!

First up, we have Analog Science Fiction’s November 1974 cover.

Interesting layout here. We have someone standing mostly under a giant ship like thingy. Everything appears to be happening inside a larger structure.  The title “the Indian Giver” seems like a peculiar sci-fi title.

Up next we have Analog’s December 1974 cover

This is a pretty cool picture. It looks like it is a combination of scale sized set with hand illustrated crew. Neat looking.

Well, see you next sunday!
