Well well, it is time for another guide! Sorry I missed you Moms, I wasn’t writing much when that came and passed, maybe I’ll catch you next year.
So what does a dad want if he’s into animatronics, practical effects, and cosplay? Well, let me list a bunch of awesome stuff that would likely thrill anyone, (even the moms).
These are mostly affiliate links on amazon. They don’t cost you any more, and if you click them, they help me pay bills. On the plus side, if you order today, your father’s day gift can arrive before this weekend!
Thanks, and enjoy!
Every Tool’s A Hammer – Adam Savage
Adam wrote a book! you know you want it, maybe when dad is done reading it you can steal it.
Creality CR-10 3D Printer
They’re dirt cheap. They print decently. Your dad wants one, trust me.
Sketchbook
It is scientifically proven that you can’t have too many sketchbooks. Not an artist? doesn’t matter. Dad not an organized person? Get 10 of them and put them in every room.
EVA Foam
Chances are, any cosplay project, and even many animatronics are going to require some EVA. Can’t go wrong with buying a roll or two to keep around.
Xacto knife set
I imagine that I’ll probably include a blade set of some sort in every single gift guide from now to forever. It seems there is never a nice sharp blade around when you need it, and the difference between a fresh one and an old one is astonishing.
Adafruit Circuit Playground
Whether pop is a seasoned pro, or just starting out with adding circuits, it is really hard to go wrong with this board. It has sensors and lights built in, as well as battery management. For the price, you can’t find much comparable.
On top of that, Adafruit has a plethora of tutorials you can follow to get you going.
Glowforge Laser Cutter
If you’ve got the budget, a laser cutter is an absolute game changer. The glowforge brings some really nice software to the whole experience that makes everything so much easier.
