The 1990’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Were Pretty Complex Animatronics

 

For as goofy as those movies were, they were also a triumph of wearable animatronics. My memories of the movies are a but fuzzy, but I do recall their faces actually moving pretty well. Then again, it isn’t like the 90’s were the beginning of animatronics, the Jim Henson studio had a pretty good grasp on how to move things by then.

The control systems were upgraded a bit for the 1992 version. You can get a better look at the system they used in this video. Just look at that laptop! ugh, just watching that windows 3.1 boot up screen inspires feelings I can’t quite verbalize, both good and bad.
