From the documentary “A Sense of Scale”, a bit of a behind the scenes clip on the iconic “Wild Wild West” set. Kind of interesting how they used dead blow hammers as inspiration on how to slow down miniature rocks from bouncing.
On a side note, he mentions the old steel hammers blacksmiths use having a double ping sound… that’s movie nonsense! Blacksmiths don’t do the little ping first generally, it wastes energy and doubles the work on their arm. You only see that with beginners and in movies because it sounds and looks cool.
