See How They Created The Visually Stunning World Of ParaNorman

Laika’s 2012 movie Paranorman was a visually rich feat of stop motion. It was hard to believe that it was actually stop motion, and not a purely CGI creation. They really knocked it out of the park.

In this “B-Roll” featurette, you can see a wonderful timelapse from the Laika folks. I love it when sotp-motion people do timelapses, they just can’t help but animate things.

In this video you get to see a wonderful amount of behind-the-scenes footage from filming. Glimpses of sets, and animators in action. It is really revealing, and fascinating to watch.

Be sure to check out at about 2:55 to see those impressive mushy facial rigs!

The 3d printing of the models is quite interesting. In this video you can see how that process works. It isn’t quite the same as your typical home 3d printer!
