Note: I had several people contact me, annoyed that I didn’t provide the proof they were looking for. This is a joke people. In simplest terms, the illustration above from 1964 looks vaguely like the Baltic Sea Anomaly and I found that amusing.
For those who haven’t seen it yet, the Baltic Sea anomaly is an odd circular formation in the Baltic sea that many have, ridiculously, claimed was extraterrestrial in origin. It does look kind of like a flying saucer.
The Baltic Sea anomaly is a 60-metre (200 ft) circular rock-like formation on the floor of the Baltic Sea, discovered by Peter Lindberg, Dennis Åsberg and their Swedish “Ocean X” diving team in June 2011. The team reported that the formation rests on a pillar and includes a structure similar in appearance to a staircase, leading to a dark hole.

But this story has captured the imaginations of many many people and the artist renditions, especially by deviant art user Vaghauk are pretty fun.
